Healing Brushstrokes Mail Club
November 2026 • Put the Kettle On
A little art. A heartfelt letter. A reason to slow down.
There’s something lovely about finding an envelope in the mailbox that someone has thoughtfully put together for you.
Welcome to Healing Brushstrokes—a monthly offering of art, words, and small pleasures, created by North Vancouver artist Caroline Liggett.
Our November issue, Put the Kettle On, celebrates the comfort of a familiar cup, the warmth of home, and the connections we make when we pause long enough to notice one another.
Make yourself a cup of something lovely, find a comfortable spot, and enjoy a quiet moment with your mail.
Inside your November envelope
-
An art print of my original teacup painting, to keep, display, or frame.
-
An art postcard, to send a little thoughtfulness to someone else.
-
A mini greeting card with an envelope, ready for a few words from you.
-
An affirmation card, offering a gentle reminder to pause and be present.
-
A personal letter from me, sharing memories and reflections behind this month’s theme.
-
A favourite recipe, for a little comfort in your own kitchen.
-
A link to a thoughtfully chosen playlist, to accompany your baking, creating, or quiet cup of tea.
The recipe and playlist link are included with the letter. Tea, baked goods, frames, and styling props are not included.
Why I started Healing Brushstrokes
I’m an artist, a mother, and someone whose mind is often already racing toward the next thing. There is always another painting to finish, another idea to pursue, another job waiting.
I started this mail club because I wanted to make room for something slower—and invite you to join me.
For me, “put the kettle on” means more than making tea. It means come in, sit down, tell me how you are. It brings back the comfort of familiar kitchens, shared stories, and knowing there is time for you.
I want to carry a little of that feeling into these envelopes.
My paintings are where it begins, but connection is at the heart of it: a letter to read, something beautiful to keep, and a card you can send to someone who might need to know they’re on your mind.
I’m learning to appreciate the ordinary things—the dogs curled beside me, a walk outside, even the mountain of my grown children’s shoes by the front door. One day those shoes won’t be piled there, and I don’t want to have been too busy to notice them.
Healing Brushstrokes is my invitation to pause, enjoy a little creativity, and make space for each other.
I’d love to send a little of that warmth your way.
With love,
Caroline Liggett
